Take a refreshing dip, catch a few rays or cook a meal for eight — the choice is yours.

Today, most pools are designed to have as much night-time appeal as they do day-time allure and this pool is no exception. The interior surface is clad in blue tile, giving the water that fresh, clean look we usually associate with resort pools. At night the effect is enhanced by the use of blue filtered pool lighting.
As there was no space to waste in this backyard (especially after the construction of a new poolside pavilion, which was part of a major home renovation project) the design of the pool, decking and any special features had to carefully considered.
While many designers would be tempted to place a feature wall on a direct axis from the main entertaining area, in this instance Natural Pools decided to place it in the far corner so the eye is drawn diagonally across the garden. This ensures there is visual interest in all areas of the garden and makes the overall space seem just that little bit bigger.
The feature wall is something rather special. Three water spouts emerge from the porcelain tile surface of the wall, sending water spilling into the little swim-out area below. To the side there’s an area of timber decking, which features a cosy circular daybed with canopy. On the house-side of the pool there is more timber decking and ample space for sun lounges and a small dining setting.
The main entertaining area, of course, is the impressive purpose-built pavilion. Nothing has been overlooked or left out. There is an outdoor kitchen with barbecue, storage and preparation space plus rangehood, an outdoor fireplace with a mirror mounted above to enhance the outdoor room feel, a ceiling fan, extensive lighting, an eight-piece dining setting and an inbuilt daybed for extra casual seating or simply lounging about.
The pavilion is well placed for accessing the pool and spa as well as supervising children. And as it’s integrated into the structure of the home’s new rear extension, it offers a flawless indoor-outdoor connection, which is exactly what the modern family wants.
