Great design equals a practical, efficient and stylish kitchen
Unappealing, the original kitchen was worn out and needed a complete re-fit. Designer John Cunningham was called in to revitalise the space and turn it into a place the owners want to spend time in.
“The owner required that we co-ordinate the entire operation from design and manufacture to installation as well as all the tradework such as lighting, repolishing the timber floors and repainting the walls,” says John.
Presented with a relatively small area, John was given the challenge of maximising the amount of available space. To ensure the kitchen layout wasn’t compromised by the room’s smaller dimensions, a number of space-saving storage solutions were implemented.
Modelled on Blum’s Dynamic space, which plans for optimal workflow, the kitchen features a number of innovative storage options including a full pantry complete with slide-outs. The pantry is a highlight of the design with everyday necessities more than provided for with the ample shelving.
A range of quality appliances have also been integrated into the design for the same effect. A Liebherr fridge/freezer and a host of other top-end appliances have been expertly installed for a streamlined look.
Well-balanced, aesthetically pleasing and functional, this kitchen operates at the height of efficiency.
