Classic à la mode

Everything about this Provincial-style home is lively and welcoming. Originally, it was a U-shaped configuration lacking bench space, so the clients wanted their new kitchen to have balance, ease of circulation and good use of storage and bench space.

We love the black island bench, which puts a contemporary twist on a classic design.

“As you walk up the long driveway, you are met by beautiful gardens filled with roses. The kitchen was the first stage of the home’s renovation. We enlarged the room by extending the exterior wall onto the verandah to the edge of the roofline. The island needed to be large for the family to gather around. Shaker-style doors provide a classic style that won’t date. The client wanted something different as a feature of the kitchen and, hence, the black island bench with chrome cup handles gives that sense of ‘wow’. The framing of the drawers and the detail of the legs make it a stunning piece of furniture. The custom rangehood enclosure is another feature, with the clock being a nice finishing touch. Finally, the polytec Ravine surface adds warmth to the overall appearance. The kitchen always had a really homely feeling and, along with carefully chosen pieces in the perfect places, the renovation has lifted and modernised the room.”
