Bringing light, colour and functionality to a family kitchen
“The previous kitchen was dull, dated, had limited workspace and inadequate storage. The customers requested a bright and open feel to their new kitchen that would provide the best use of space and a contemporary classic look. The existing kitchen and doorways were widened to emphasise flow and create an open-plan area. The bright-red splashback provides an exciting counterpoint in an otherwise muted colour palette. A large three-door pantry and appliance cupboard makes storage and neatness easy. The hotplate features two double-ring wok burners and four other burners, facilitating the family’s taste for Asian cooking while a second wall oven allows for simultaneous cooking. Along with a mini bar, the kitchen offers the ultimate in entertaining potential. This kitchen was a finalist for us in the 2012 Kitchen and Bathroom Design Institute awards.” Designer: Lindsay Williams for the Mint Kitchen Group
