When it comes to building, renovating or extending your home, it’s important to get it right from the start because your home is your castle and for most people, your greatest asset.

A project that is for many people a once-in-a-lifetime experience, your renovated home needs to reflect your lifestyle and personality and accommodate changing family needs. Renovations and extensions aren’t something you want to do again, so you need to achieve the highest-quality specifications the first time.

It goes without saying that the builder you select will be paramount to the level of satisfaction you feel, not just with the finished product but also throughout the entire process. With building companies going bust in Australia at remarkable levels, you also want to know that your builder has an outstanding track record of reliability, integrity, transparency and good business practices.

Smith & Sons is hands-down a builder you can trust. Australia’s premier extension and renovation specialists, they’ve completed more than 15,000 home renovations across Australia. Whether you’re renovating to increase the sale price of your property or to create a dream home, their experience as renovation specialists allows them to tailor the completed project to your exact requirements, working with you to bring your ideas to reality.

Smith & Sons Wyong — the renovation specialists

One of the successful Smith & Sons franchisees is Smith & Sons Wyong, operating on the beautiful Central Coast of New South Wales. Specialists across the building and renovation spectrum, they undertake renovations, extensions and additions, entertaining areas, decks and pergolas, pools and landscaping, kitchens and bathrooms, granny flats and total home makeovers. Taking clients from conception to completion, they use their Design-Plan–Construct process to help bring your home renovation ideas to life.

Owned and operated by experienced builder Ben Falconer, Smith & Sons Wyong wants you to have an amazing renovation experience. “I’m enthusiastic about all my clients,” says Ben. “I want them to experience a renovation or extension that has them feeling relaxed and satisfied all through the process of construction and beyond. Renovation can be daunting for many people, but it doesn’t need to be and we do our best to make sure it’s actually a really enjoyable process.

“We have more than 25 years’ experience working in the building industry and have all the qualifications needed. We’re experts in home renovations and we’ve worked on all kinds of projects — from developing concepts and drawing up plans to building off someone else’s designs. Whether it’s your bathroom that needs an upgrade or you want to create more space in your kitchen, we’re the team to talk to. We’re passionate about getting your job done right the first time, so you can enjoy all your new home has to offer without delay.”

Ben’s experience as a builder and building inspector has allowed him to develop a skill set that attends to the details and complexities that can sometimes arise through the construction process when embarking on a renovation or extension. His construction portfolio over the years has seen him carry out construction projects from new homes, knock-down-rebuilds and multi-developments to the smaller rooftop and room extensions. Ben’s attention to detail sets him apart from his competitors and his can-do attitude has left him with a long line of satisfied clientele.

Stately ensuite by Smith & Sons Wyong

This impressive ensuite on the Central Coast had a complete makeover. All tiles, walls and flooring were removed and redone. Two niches were added to the shower area and the tiles in the shower were all individually hand-cut to look like mosaic, and the result is simply fantastic.
Pared back and elegant with a touch of the industrial, Belga Charcoal rectified floor tiles complement the Icon Dove Matt wall tiles and Icon Dove Row textured mosaic tiles for niches, while a smoky grey-black trim outlines the shower screen.

Smith & Sons Renovation Bathroom Project

This strong statement ensuite was enhanced with two wall-mounted vanities (Marquis Norman 1200) in concrete formwork finish with Caesarstone tops in a sleek concrete colour, while the charcoal Vivian basins and Mango freestanding bath are made from an eco-friendly, non-porous stone material that consists of reclaimed marble, limestone and engineered resins.

Underfloor WarmTech heating was added for extra comfort, as well as heated towel rails by Forme, while the toilet was tucked away from view. For extra luxury, mirrors (Parisi Star 100) come with magnifier, LED backlit lighting, defogger and clock infrared sensor, while Parisi was also used for the bath filler, taps and shower head. Roller blinds are warm grey by day and dawn grey by night. Most of the inclusions were purchased from Harvey Norman Commercial, while the bath was from Pietra Bianca.

“At the end of the day, it takes good builders to work with existing dwellings, fix problems and make the completed job not just look right, but be right,” says Ben. “We take pride in the work we do, not just because we love it, but because we love our community that we’re helping to shape.” For more information on the Wyong ensuite check out: smithandsons.com.au/renovation-builder/wyong-381/
