Bright and beachy: a Cottesloe renovation

Gallery

Cottesloe is an area renowned for its bright beaches and gorgeous weather, so it only made sense that these clients approached Retreat Design to create a contemporary, beachy vibe for their home

These clients were after full-scale renovation, with the end result of achieving a contemporary, bright and beachy feel for their Cottesloe home, perfect for indoor-outdoor living with a neutral colour palette. The total renovation involved re-configuring the existing lower level, relocating the kitchen and creating an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area by removing a dividing wall – achieving the client’s goals in the process and creating a space filled with natural light.

Chartwell Construction was employed for the building works, with Retreat Design co-ordinating the overall project and designing the kitchen, alfresco, two bathrooms and laundry. New windows, doors and pre-finished washed oak flooring was utilised to fit the design brief, while matte white cabinetry was used to adhere to the neutral colour palette. Carefully placed wooden highlights bring the space to life, while a standout range of co-ordinated tiling throughout the bathroom, kitchen and laundry helps to unite the three spaces while giving each its own unique feel. An alfresco area welcomes the outdoors and provides the ideal space for entertaining.
