Using aluminium battens to create a bright, contemporary home facade

Gallery

This modern home uses aluminium battens to create a contemporary home facade that captures the attention of passers-by while remaining low maintenance and environmentally friendly

Originally a brick and tile home from the 1970’s, this corner block home in Isle of Capri, Gold Coast was demolished with the aim to create two separate, contemporary dwellings on the same block.

For the owners of this Gold Coast development, creating something that drew attention and which would be attractive to potential buyers was a necessity. With a tropical-inspired contemporary design in mind, the decision was made to create a wood-like facade from aluminium battens.

The allowable building foot print for this project was within a tight site. However, the resulting use of WOODonALI’s ‘Arctica’ aluminium battens not only allowed construction to encroach the front setback, it gave a comfortable, light appearance with a unique, ultra-modern look.
