This classic pool Urban Aqua Pools & Spas, reflecting harmony in design and approach
The client’s brief was simple: a contemporary pool and entertaining area, with minimal maintenance and a no-fuss approach. The flawless result was achieved by one company, Urban Aqua Pools & Spas, which executed both the pool and landscape construction.
At Urban Aqua Pools & Spas, good design means working closely with architects, designers and the client themselves. The company’s flexible and comprehensive approach to building ensures the highest degree of quality. This project typifies the company’s ethos, as design was carried out by Prue Murdoch Architect and the project was built by Urban Aqua Pools & Spas.
A natural colour palette has been achieved through a cohesive choice of materials. Narrow sandstone coping has been used, creating clean and simple lines and a classic aesthetic. Sandstone also forms the rear wall and raised garden bed, which becomes a focal point from the alfresco dining area. Tumbled travertine waterline tiles were selected for the edging, for a soft, harmonising effect. The light, reflective qualities of travertine result in a glimmering, natural finish.
Blackbutt decking forms the sundeck, with glass fencing completing the borderless transition from pool to entertainment areas. Unobtrusive shrubbery surrounds the pool for an open and spacious feel, while hedging along the property’s border ensures a private, outdoor area.
The swimming pool features a fully automated pool system, including filtration, gas heating and in-floor cleaning. LED lighting has been used for a visual feature in the evenings. The client chose an automated Remco Swimroll cover, an environmentally friendly option as it minimises evaporation and heat loss.
The overall flow of the project reflects Urban Aqua Pools & Spas’ ability to achieve a unified and luxurious result, with a harmonious approach from start to finish.
