The fun factor: pool and spa project

A superb Sydney pool and spa project that offers something for everyone in the family, regardless of their age

A good pool design is one that not only looks great, but is also functional, according to Aquastone Pools & Landscapes co-owner, Gavin Bazley. “This pool in Sydney’s Strathfield ticks all of those boxes,” says Gavin.

The homeowners have two young children and wanted their pool to complement their modern new home. They also needed it to incorporate
a fun factor for their children and friends.

“It really has something for everyone,” says Gavin. “There’s a spa that both the adults and kids can enjoy, and an amazing fake rock water feature that is great for the kids to jump off or swim underneath. The fun doesn’t stop there, however, as there’s also a fantastic waterslide that will keep the kids entertained for hours.”

The 9m-long pool is a key design of the family’s entertaining area and is an amazing focal point when viewed from within the luxurious home. The contemporary residence is on a large, flat block so the pool could have been positioned anywhere, however, it was built close to the house so it becomes a feature of the entertaining area. This allows parents to watch the children swim from inside or outside, as frameless glass fencing ensures an unimpeded view.

“It is an extremely beautiful and stylish space with its fully tiled interior and choice of travertine for the surrounds,” says Gavin.

Complemented by LED lighting and pool heating, this design perfectly demonstrates that good looks and functionality can go hand in hand — with a touch of fun thrown in for good measure. BH
