A classic design inspired by the existing architecture creates a stunning aesthetic in this Sydney backyard
The classic, clean lines of this pool, which was inspired by the existing residence, enhance the beauty of this Sydney backyard. As the old pool was positioned in the centre of the backyard, there was limited lawn space for the owner’s children and pets to play. GOODMANORS Pool + Garden was asked to modernise the existing pebblecrete pool to make it more practical.
Maximising the property’s potential, GOODMANORS Pool + Garden completely demolished the old pool and rebuilt a new one to the back boundary of the backyard. This enlarged the garden and created more space for the family to enjoy the outdoors. The new position of the pool means this family can take advantage of the sunny position of their property all year round, allowing them to use the pool three out of four seasons in the year with the use of solar pool heating. The new position and design of the swimming pool also enhance the backyard. Travertine coping and pavers in neutral tones, coupled with blue ceramic pool tiles, give this poolscape a beautiful beachy feel. Surrounding greenery from the trees and plants along with the timber decking, furniture and outdoor fire pit bring together this design in complete, natural harmony.
The team at GOODMANORS Pool + Garden have a strong design aesthetic and respect the surrounding landscapes of their projects. They designed and built the outdoor area for this client including the lighting, drainage, plumbing, carpentry and sandstone retaining. The company included a number of environmentally friendly factors, doing its bit for the earth. FSC-certified Australian native spotted gum was used for the timber decking, an environmentally sustainable, resilient hardwood with a beautiful finish. The team also included a sub-surface drip-line tank-fed irrigation system and a mineral pool system, which sanitises the water without the need for excessive chemicals.
To complement the existing architecture and location of this property, GOODMANORS Pool + Garden has revamped the poolscape into a beautiful visual that can be enjoyed from the balcony. The calming greenery along with the pool’s blue serenity make this backyard a truly tranquil space.
