This dramatic infinity-edge pool and spa were built on a very steep block to take advantage of the beautiful views of Brisbane Water, on the New South Wales Central Coast, and the surrounding bushland.
The homeowners requested a low-maintenance pool they can use all year that makes the most of the vista and bush setting. “This is the owners’ holiday house and they do a lot of entertaining when they are there,” explains Zeb Rodrigues, owner of Artesian Pools, who built the stunning pool-and-spa combination.
The 11.7m-long Bisazza-tiled infinity pool can be accessed from the house level and has a large adjacent entertaining area inside the pool enclosure. The spa, meanwhile, is slightly raised. Frameless glass pool fencing was used so that it does not detract from the spectacular views.
A ledge features at the deep end of pool so that swimmers can easily look over the edge and admire the perfect water view. Artesian Pools created a cantilevered design with infinity edges on two sides. The water runs through the river pebbles in the dry gutters and down to a retention tank under the pool, and the water is then pumped back to the pool.

In the 2017 awards, Artesian won the Pool Renovations up to $50,000 category and was a joint winner of the Traditional or Geometric Concrete Pools $50,001-$100,000 award.
In the 2016 awards, Artesian won an award for Master Builders Association Excellence in Swimming Pools – Lap Pools, and the Master Builders Association Excellence in Swimming Pools – Residential Spas.
