Waterco’s energy and water-efficient innovations awarded Climate Care Certification Partnership with smart Approved WaterMark authenticates environmental credentials.

Waterco continues to cement its reputation for manufacturing eco-friendly pool and spa products with three of its technologicaL innovations – Hydrostorm 100 ECO-V Pump, Multicyclone Dual-filtration System – now accredited by the industry benchmarking Climate Care Certification (CCC) Program.

An initiative of the Swimming Pool & Spa Association of Australia (SPASA), Climate Care Certification supports, protects and promotes the way the industry operates and strives for best-practice solutions.

“Sustainability has always been on Waterco’s R&D radar and Climate Care Certification further authenticates our environmental credentials while providing confidence to eco-conscious consumers,” says group marketing director Bryan Goh. “CCC shows that you can experience the lifestyle benefits pool and spa ownership brings and do so without compromising the environment.”

Key product features that met the program’s stringent requirements:

The 8-star energy rated Hydrostorm 100 ECO-V variable speed pump is equipped with the latest permanent magnet brushless DC motor, which is capable of lowering its energy usage and reducing operating noise levels.

“You can operate the Hydrostorm 100 ECO-V on its low (ECO) speed setting for a majority of the running time, leading to 80 per cent energy savings,” explains Goh.

The installation of a MultiCyclone as a pre-filter to a sand filter can reduce backwash frequency to approximately twice per year. This results in a saving of between 7,000 to 10,000 litres of water per year for an average domestic sized swimming pool.

“Multicyclone’s award-winning filter technology reduces maintenance while saving water,” says Goh. “It’s easy to install and can be added to a new or existing pool. It can also be easily retrofitted between the pump and the existing filter.”

The clever combination of MultiCyclone filtration and Opal cartridge extends the life of the swimming pool filter, slashing water consumption and further reducing maintenance.

“This is the low maintenance pool filter solution with no requirement to backwash while the time between filter cleanings can be increased significantly,” Goh explains.

Waterco an early adopter of Climate Care Certification

SPASA CEO Spiros Dassakis says companies like Waterco demonstrate that Australia’s pool and spa sector is making significant changes to ensure it stays at the forefront of sustainability.

“SPASA is proud to deliver an industry-wide program that supports best practice sustainable innovations like Wateroco’s products,” he explains. “This is how we remain relevant while ensuring people feel good about owning water and energy-efficient pools and spa.”
