This pool serves as a unique feature of the backyard, bringing together all the elements of fun and entertainment
Who doesn’t love entertaining outdoors? Whether you’re firing up the barbecue for a family dinner or inviting guests for cheese and wine, being outside in the summer months is something special. This newly built family home was designed specifically to utilise the outdoor living area and the addition of a pool has completed this brilliant entertaining space. The owners requested that it be constructed as a unique feature of their backyard that would bring together all the elements of fun and entertainment. Senator Pools jumped at the challenge, keeping the owners thoroughly involved in the design and construction process.
One of the challenges of this pool was building it to fit in perfectly with the alfresco area. Senator Pools collaborated closely with its client throughout the design process, evolving the design over a number of hand-drawn sketches. The conceptual design was further enhanced and refined by the team at Ecodesign, who played an integral part in both the design of the pool and the landscape.
The pool tiles were provided and installed by iPave, with the mottled blend used in the lounge component of the pool adding to the sense of leisure. A solid-blue tile trims the perimeter of the pool and synchronises perfectly with the sparkling blue inner created by Gemtex’s Sapphire Glow glass bead interior. This spectacular interior is also used for the balance tank, providing a seamless connection between the two features.
The daybed crafted within the deck coincides brilliantly with the lounge component of the pool, converting the outdoor area instantly into an inviting, relaxing space. The outdoor space also features a television and bar within the alfresco room, creating a fabulous arena for entertaining friends.
At night the pool radiates with Aqua-Quip’s Aquastar Evo2 flush-mounted fixed-colour LED lights that illuminate the pool to a brilliant blue hue. The intensity of the colour and illumination is easily managed using the light’s dimmers, making it the perfect visual background for night-time entertaining. Dimension One glass panels frame the pool on two sides and also scribe the blade where the water cascades into the balance tank below. Aqua-Quip provided sanitation equipment including saltwater chlorination and sand filters. The pool also features a series of spa jets and alternating returns for added fun.
