This old, outdated pool was transformed into a contemporary showcase befitting its location
Perched on the banks of Sydney Harbour, this pool sits in the most idyllic location. The design is a renovation project by Urban Escape, worked on together with the owners to transform their outdated pool into an entertainment hub for their home.
Due to age of the pool, the open nature of the site and the close proximity to the sea water, the pool required extensive work including internal waterproofing and steel repairs. It was completed with mosaic tiling. Although the site was difficult to access, Urban Escape delivered a contemporary design that modernises the previous outdated poolscape.
A lush green lawn runs along one side of the pool, providing space to lie in the sun and play, while the light-blue vitrified pool tiles bring the natural colour scheme together. With the addition of a spotted gum timber deck to create an aesthetic link between the garden, waterfront deck, entertaining areas and the pool, the simple design is truly breathtaking.
The pool owners are a recently retired couple and this area has become a focal point of their home for entertaining young grandchildren, family and friends, as well as being a daily exercise oasis. Urban Escape believes a design can only be as good as the demands it meets and with the inclusion of solar heating, space, frameless glass fencing and easily accessible steps, this pool ticks all of those boxes.
