A contemporary pool designed for a fun-loving family that likes to entertain
Nestled into a corner of the garden between the home and the property’s boundary wall, this contemporary, clean-lined pool is a shimmering example of modern pool design.
The interior surface is clad in vivid-blue Florentine glass tiles, which contrast the pale tones of the paving and the white weatherboard house, creating a fresh, inviting look. Part of the pool is bordered by a raised garden bed, drawing the eye and adding textural interest, with a navy-coloured rendered feature wall providing privacy for swimmers.
Designed by Sean Lynch of Malibu Pools and Landscapes for family fun and outdoor entertaining, the pool fits seamlessly into what is a relatively small space. To enhance the feeling of connection with the house and to ensure uninterrupted views, the fencing is of frameless glass.
The pool features two underwater benches, which provide adults with a place to relax and children with a place to safely play. Children and adults alike can take delight in the water jets set into the waterline along one side of the pool. These jets shoot arcs of water across the pool, adding a wonderful sense of playfulness.
LED lights set into the feature wall and the underwater benches illuminate the pool at night, creating a stunning view from the second-storey porch. And, because the owners would rather spend their time using the pool than cleaning it, Malibu Pools and Landscapes installed an automatic in-floor cleaning system and the Malibu fresh water system.
