There is so much to love about an outdoor daybed. Enjoying the pillowy, embracing comfort of your bed in the warm, summer sunshine and light breeze sounds almost too good to be true.
With amazing advancements in outdoor fabrics, it is now absolutely possible to get that incredible feel in an outdoor furniture piece, without having to worry about leaving it outside to brave the elements! All of our daybeds are made from outdoor performance textiles, and reticulated quick-dry foams – which means the cushions don’t need to be rushed inside at any sign of rain.
A row of sun lounges is a classic poolside look, but if you really want to maximise comfort, style and together time, think about opting for a daybed instead! Below are some of our go-to daybed options, which you can enjoy for many, many years to come.
MOOD DAYBED
Teak outdoor furniture is highly requested in Australia – we just love a casual, laid back outdoor setting that maintains core elements of style and interest.
The Mood daybed, designed by Studio Segers for Tribu has been a core offering in our outdoor living range for a number of years. The Mood collection does not seem to falter in popularity, and has undergone some weave colour and cushion updates over the years to keep it feeling fresh. The generous size is an easy fit for two – it’s long depth great for taller folks who love to stretch out. The base is made from solid A-grade teak, and when left to it’s own devices – will gradually silver off over time.
The distinctive lineal rope feature on the backrest is Tricord – a material that looks and feels natural yet consists of polyolefin and is completely weather-resistant. The backrest is available in Linen (beige) or Wenge (charcoal).
The Mood daybed cushions are made to order in a range of fabric options in our Melbourne workshop. Lead time: When the frame is in stock – 6 weeks. If the frame is not in stock, you may be looking at 12 weeks to arrive from Tribu in Belgium.
SWINGREST DAYBED: STANDING OR HANGING
German outdoor furniture company DEDON are masters in creating furniture collections that become icons, and SWINGREST is no exception. Designed by Daniel Pouzet, SWINGREST is available in a standing or hanging lounger.
Flaunting the signature DEDON fibre in a round daybed format, SWINGREST presents two scales of their fibre – the first like classic wicker furniture, running along the base of the lounger. The second, a larger format weave, runs along the back of the daybed, an eye-catching and sculptural note.
A single circular base cushion creates a comfortable foundation, multiple scatter cushions allow flexibility, comfort and the ability to play with colour and texture. The SWINGREST standing lounger sits on a rotating base, which means it can spin 360 degrees, to wherever the light is perfect – sun or shade.
The SWINGREST hanging lounger is supplied with incredibly strong suspension rope, designed to swing gently and rock you into relaxation.
SWINGREST is made from powder-coated aluminium with that essential DEDON fiber. Outdoor cushion covers can be removed and washed, so it can be kept looking its best from season to season.
The SWINGREST daybed cushions are made to order in a range of fabric options in our Melbourne workshop. Lead time: When the frame & base cushion foam is in stock – 6 weeks. If the frame is not in stock, you may be looking at 12 weeks to arrive from Dedon in Germany.

RILLY COCOON DAYBED
The RILLY Cocoon daybed by DEDON takes a slightly different approach than the SWINGREST. Instead of a dramatic circular design with a plentiful weave, RILLY features a delicate and airy rope weave. Designed by GamFratesi, RILLY has a distinctive and modern silhouette.
Parallel vertical strands of maritime rope present a transparent form with contemporary style. The Cocoon double daybed is a signature piece that features a beautiful woven canopy for privacy and shade. Optional wheels are available for easy mobility.
Available in colourways Taupe or Teal, with a Melange (matte) or Touch (glossy) rope, allow RILLY to become the centre of your outdoor setting. RILLY is made from a powder-coated aluminium frame with DEDON Fibre or ‘maritime rope’.
The RILLY daybed cushions are made to order in a range of fabrics in our Melbourne workshop. Lead time: When the frame & foams are in stock – 6 weeks. If the frame is not in stock, you may be looking at 12 weeks to arrive from Dedon in Germany.

CONTOUR MERIDIENNE DAYBED
Love a daybed feeling, but not so into the idea of sharing? The Contour Meridienne may be a good fit for you. You know how everyone fights over the chaise on a modular sofa? This is just the chaise, in the sun, just for you. Pretty ideal.
Characterised by a frame in tubular powder-coated stainless steel, the outline of the daybed flows in one continuous line. The open weave of the Tricord all-weather backrest appears to float unsuspended around the seat and gives extra support to the back.
As the frame is stainless steel, the Contour has a nice weight to it. This ensures your outdoor furniture won’t be going for a walk on it’s own in high winds!
The Contour Meridienne daybed cushions are made to order in a range of fabric options in our Melbourne workshop. Lead time: When the frame is in stock – 6 weeks. If the frame is not in stock, you may be looking at 12 weeks to arrive from Tribu in Belgium.

TOSCA DAYBED
Last but not least, who could forget the Tosca daybed, designed by Monica Armani for Tribu. A luxurious, chunky outdoor rope entwines along all edges of this circular daybed.
The open form is simultaneously warm and inviting, with plush base and back cushions included. The rounded forms of the Tosca collection are elegant and intriguing. The material for the wide braiding is innovative: foam mousse is encased in a seamless sheath of knitted textilene and polyolefine which makes the material weather-safe, but also surprisingly natural and soft to the touch.
Available in two core weave tones, Linen (beige) or Wenge (charcoal). The Tosca daybed is an ideal setting to enjoy the weather, with a 360 degree spin. The Tosca cushions are made to order in a range of fabric options in our Melbourne workshop. Lead time: When the frame is in stock – 6 weeks. If the frame is not in stock, you may be looking at 12 weeks to arrive from Tribu in Belgium.
