Here at VerdeLife, we are making a concerted effort to live up to the name’s sake of our flagship product – SustainaPod Outdoor Kitchens – by introducing even more ways to be an environmentally-responsible company. We are taking climate action by offsetting our carbon emissions through native reforestation, breaking new ground in functional conscious design, reducing waste and eliminating single-use plastic from our packaging.
SustainaPod founder and designer, Dan Bruce, is a certified GreenSmart® Kitchen Design Professional, combining both environmentally preferable products and sustainable building practices.
ANNOUNCEMENT! WE’VE REACHED OUR GOAL OF OFFSETTING OUR CARBON EMISSIONS!
We’ve joined hundreds of other eco-responsible businesses by offsetting our CO2 emissions through native reforestation! With every outdoor kitchen purchase, our customers are contributing to the restoration of our Australian and New Zealand forests.
To do this, we’ve partnered with Greenfleet – a leading not-for-profit environmental organisation committed to protecting our climate by restoring our forests. Greenfleet plants native biodiverse forests to capture carbon emissions and help fight the impacts of climate change. Since 1997, Greenfleet has planted over 9.2 million trees across 500 forests in Australia and New Zealand.
As they grow, Greenfleet forests absorb carbon emissions, improve soil and water quality, and restore habitat for native wildlife, including many endangered species.
WE’RE GROWING GREENER EVERYDAY!
We’re also making progress with a number of initiatives. Change takes time, but here’s where we are at:
- Ecological Manufacturing: Improving environmental performance of the manufacturing and building industries – minimising waste and maximising recycling – and ensuring environmental considerations are a standard part of our business process and products.
- Single-use Plastic Free: Investigating paper-based tape to replace existing plastic tape and implementing paper packaging to house product documents and accessories.
- Commitment to Recycling: Placing the ‘Recycle Me’ Logo on our packaging and documents to help you understand how each part can be recycled.
