Attention to detail

Making the most of its bucolic surrounds, this inviting light-filled abode has everything you need to entertain stylishly and live comfortably.

Set on acreage in the semi-rural, outer Sydney suburb of Dural, this custom-designed and -built single-storey home is the perfect fit for the family’s lifestyle and the location. Drawing on its extensive experience and displaying incredible attention to detail, Gremmo Homes has delivered a spacious, adaptable home that will see the owners through the years to come.

Of striking, modern design, the structural features of the home, which include angled roof lines and an external blade wall, draw the eye while the meticulously planned palette of colours, textures and materials adds endless warmth and visual interest.

The home makes maximum use of the acreage property, from inside to out. Note the expansive interior living spaces and high ceilings; also the use of custom-designed and clerestory windows as well as large-scale glass doors, all of which bring floods of light into the home and optimise the views.

The transition from indoors to out is seamless. Stackable sliding doors open from the kitchen and indoor dining room to reveal the informal alfresco eating area. From this tiled space you have direct access to the pool or you can turn left, take a few steps down and discover the sunken seating area. This space, located directly beneath the interior lounge room, features built-in seating and a firepit.

The pool is a standout element of the design and is encased by frameless glass fencing to further capitalise on the country views. Of elegant design, it features an integrated spa, a negative edge and is linked to a water feature that you have to traverse, via stepping stones, to access the pool. The water feature wall, the waterline of the pool and the spa are clad in mosaic tile.

The outdoor dining area, equipped with a barbecue and TV, is the home’s entertainment hub and is awash with luxurious yet practical finishes. Above the space there is an operable louvre roof, the clean lines complementing the structural angles of the home and the striking timber cladding.

To create visual harmony and a sense of connection, the stack bond brickwork that features on the outside of the home extends into the inner spaces. Touches of internal brickwork are featured in the lounge room and one of the bathrooms, reinforcing the emphasis on natural hues and rustic yet refined finishes. For this brickwork, Gremmo Homes chose Mowbray Blue bricks from PGH’s Dry Pressed Architectural range.

Natural stone walling in the informal lounge area, with its double-sided Escea gas fireplace and in-built shelving, contributes natural, warm undertones as does the timber flooring used throughout the home. This is a space for relaxing with family and friends.

Another gathering point is the rumpus area, a spacious room that boasts an abstract pendant light as a focal point. The design highlight of this room is the staggered black and white shelving, set against a timber feature wall, which personalises the space.
