With its striking architectural structure, this family home in Sydney’s Hills District makes its presence known

For this family of four adults, the vision for their new home was that it had to be unique and stand out from others. Builder Starr Constructions has achieved this wish and more with a home that exudes a very unique architectural look.

Built on a vacant block in Sydney’s Bella Vista, in the Hills District, it meets the clients’ brief for an abundance of windows that look out onto the backyard and pool and allow plenty of light to enter. “The owners’ inspiration came from looking though magazines which gave many ideas that we were able to build on over the years, as well as looking at a lot of architectural types of homes,” explain builders Nino Sanzari and Jon Vithoulka of Starr Constructions.

“The design incorporates all of the owners’ requests such as a lot of architectural steel beams to enhance the overall look of the home and property. Another request was a glass floor in the entry area that has the pool running underneath and into the water feature inside the house.

“The atmosphere that the homeowners wanted was one that felt like a family home to all, which is why a variety of different building materials was used. They asked that the house flow throughout, so they chose their colour scheme wisely by keeping it mainly neutral, but then furnished the home with certain colours that would stand out.”

Upon entry to the ground floor are the media room, lounge room, pool house, gym, guest bedroom, office, prayer room, dining room, living room, kitchen, scullery and laundry. Meanwhile, up on the first floor are two bedrooms (each with their own study and walk-in robe), master bedroom with a large ensuite and massive walk-in robe and sitting room, the rumpus room, study and bathroom. The design also incorporates a basement with triple garage with workshop, storage room, powder room, games room, sitting room and lift.

“Above all, we love the overall architectural structure of the home,” say Nino and Jon.
