Encapsulating refined and contemporary living, this stunning custom luxury home provides its owners with a sanctuary that perfectly blends both timeless traditional aesthetics with luxe modern finishes in a layout perfect for the owners’ lifestyle
Positioned in the leafy Sydney suburb of Glenhaven, this custom designed and built abode by Millbrook Homes exudes elegance and sophistication with exceptional craftsmanship and precision detail paramount to the project.
During the design process, the homeowners specified a range of specific amenities they wanted to match their lifestyle, including:
• The separate Rec Room for poker nights
• A cellar to not just store but feature the owner’s wine collection
• Dedicated home theatre with terraced seating
• A 6 car garage
• Dressing Room to the Master Bedroom
• Customised cabinetry and storage throughout the home
• Linked, functional indoor and outdoor entertaining areas
“The clients had a very specific brief on how they wanted the home to look and feel, the rooms they wanted included and how these spaces needed to function to suit their lifestyle,” designer Greg Hendy for Millbrook Homes says.
“The positioning of the home on the site was given careful consideration. The home needed to accommodate a turning circle to the front, with an Entry and Portico centred to this. The rest of the home was positioned ideally for solar access to outdoor and indoor living areas. This created a separation between the Entry and the remainder of the home. The challenge was in how to link these areas in a functional and aesthetic way.”
The home not only reflects the lifestyle of the owners, it also exudes luxury in every space.
“At the home’s entrance, you cross the threshold of a pair of custom made wrought iron doors to arrive at an exceptionally crafted entrance featuring a 3.7m high ceiling, detailed wall panelling, decorative cornice, a chandelier, timber floors and a massive single fixed pane of glass that frames a view of a water feature and the yard beyond,” Hendy says.
“In the outdoor entertaining area, a flat roof design and contemporary skylight detail joining to the home is an interesting juxtaposition to the rest of the home’s traditional style design. This area also features a massive 6 leaf stacker door that recesses into the walls of the home and has a flush sill transition between the inside and outside areas. Motorised flyscreens are concealed in the perimeter of the roof, so that the area can be used with the doors open and the flow between the internal and external areas is not obstructed by screens.”
