Boasting spectacular high sloping ceilings and open-plan living, this home incorporates all the luxuries while blending well with its rural Australian setting.
Offering three separate decks to take in the scenic views of Port Macquarie, this home is holiday living at its best. The home is a contemporary take on the popular skillion roof style which optimises open-plan living with spectacular high sloping ceilings. The home has a fabulous family area as well as sizeable bedrooms, bathrooms and an ensuite, all with enviable high sloping ceilings.
This holiday rental was inspired by award-winning holiday cabins by Parkwood Modular Buildings, which were built in Broken Bay and Milson Island. These dwellings nestled neatly into the island bush setting and were rewarded by receiving the MBA awards for the year for Best Environmentally Sustainable Development, Best Construction of a Detailed or Innovative Project, and the major award Best Commercial Project. The judges said, “Every part of build-ability has been addressed by the contractor through innovation and design excellence.”
Parkwood Modular Buildings drew on these experiences to address similar needs of creating a design that blends well with the surrounding environment. The home needed to maintain the coastal lakeside character of the Murrays Beach area, fit in with a visually appealing streetscape, and a take advantage of the natural and scenic qualities of the landscape with a light and airy ambience. The Murrays Beach/Wallarah Peninsula Development required stringent review and assessment of plans so it was important for Parkwood Modular Buildings to get it right.
The home features modern materials to suit the Australian bush setting, such as Colorbond Deep Ocean cladding, James Hardie’s Scyon panels (painted Capsicum Red), large hardwood decks and lots of glass. The home is well oriented for its north-facing position and has large overhanging eaves designed to let the sun in during winter but shade the home in summer.
The home is finished with blackbutt timber and carpeted floorings, the walls in Dulux White on White and Sandy Day and ceilings in standout Noccino high gloss.
One of the great things about this plan is that it’s comprised of four sections, which can be added to or subtracted as required. This flexibility means the home will work equally well on steeper, narrow blocks as it does extending onto wide sweeping sites.
This home is a holiday rental, which provides the perfect opportunity for you to experience living in a Parkwood home prior to building your own.
