This canal-side home has everything a young family needs to live well
Sitting close to the coast and interwoven with canals, scenic walks and bike paths, Broadwaters Beach is one of the most prestigious suburbs on the Gold Coast. This canal-side home, nestled in the heart of the highly sought-after locale, was designed by Jared Poole, built by David Radic Prestige Homes and has become the envy of the neighbourhood.
Beautifully finished to the highest possible standard, the home was built for a young couple and their two children. The goal was to create a modern but very welcoming home while taking full advantage of the property’s canal-side location and the views of both the water and city skyline on the horizon.
To give designer and builder a blank canvas to work with, the dated dwelling that had sat on the site was demolished, making way for this sleek, contemporary home – replete with innovative design features and material choices – to rise up in its place.
The two-storey home offers open-plan living, which is what today’s family demands. There is a stunning outdoor entertaining area along with a pool, a state-of-the-art home cinema for family movie nights as well as five generous bedrooms, four bathrooms and a powder room. The master suite also incorporates a lavish walk-in robe/dressing area that adds to the luxury hotel ambience and gives the parents the lavish retreat they deserve.
The palette of materials used inside the home was carefully curated and includes travertine, marble, timber and veneers. This is complemented by an array of high-quality products and finishes. To ensure the home’s interior would provide the family with the look and feel they wanted, the services of interior designer Jessica Beck of Beck Space were called upon.
This is also a hi-tech home with a Wi-Fi home network, IP intercom door entry system, security alarm and camera surveillance systems, and a home audio, video and music streaming system.
The judges of the 2020 HIA Gold Coast/Northern Rivers Housing Awards were so impressed by the home, they named it a finalist in the Custom Built Home Over $2-3 million category
