Separate living areas provide privacy between the generations.
Offering separate living areas for the different generations, the Edge is ideally suited to a family with two or three children. A highly adaptable home, it can even be designed to include a fully self-contained separate wing.
“When designing this home, our goal was to create distinct living spaces. The parents have a media room at the front of the home, located next to the master bedroom, that can be closed off to the rest of the house. In the back corner of the home is a children’s wing with its own living area and bathroom. All bedrooms, apart from the main, are in this wing giving parents privacy,” explains Mike Nancarrow, OJ Pippin Homes’ General Manager.
“Of course, as this is a family home — one that was designed to make entertaining easy — there is also a generous main living and dining area where everyone can come together. This is a light and airy space featuring a raked ceiling and large sliding glass doors that open onto a large outdoor entertaining space.”
Ensuring the home felt spacious throughout was a priority, so the interior features a calming palette of light colours. The floors are a beautiful beige hue and the walls are crisp white with warm-coloured feature wallpapers. The bathrooms feature chevron mosaic tiling and light cabinetry that reflect the main flooring.
“The interior of the home is a modern take on Hamptons style,” says Mike. “To begin with, the entire home has a Hamptons-inspired light, neutral colour scheme with navy accents. Other Hamptons touches can be seen in the ornate mirrors, artwork and styling. In the kitchen, the Hamptons look is enhanced with the use of Shaker-style cabinetry.”
The Southampton facade is also Hamptons-inspired but with a contemporary twist. The Colorbond roof and rendered lower half of the home contribute a modern look, while the cladding, stone features and large windows create a more traditional feel.
“This design has been one of our most popular and it is so easy to modify,” adds Mike. “It is available in five different versions, ranging from one that suits a 12.5m wide lot right up to a wider acreage version. It can also be designed with the main bedroom at the front or the back of the home. We have accommodated a lot of individual modification requests so we can tailor the home to ensure it has everything your family needs.”
