This kitchen by Select Kitchens is a stylish entertainers dream, with marble finishes giving it a timeless classiness.
“We created a grand showpiece kitchen plus a behind-the-scenes workspace for clients who love cooking and entertaining. The fully functional butler’s pantry with extensive open shelving and preparation area is central to the design and helps cater for large functions while keeping a lot of the mess and cooking away from guests. Accessed via an open doorway in the middle of the kitchen, it has another oven, cooktop, dishwasher and sink so you essentially have two working kitchens. While a simple black and white scheme was used for the butler’s pantry, in keeping with the colour scheme of the rest of the house, the rich red of the Murray River redgum adds great warmth and texture and is a real standout feature of the main kitchen along with the luxurious Calacatta marble. We also used the timber for the floating shelves and open shelving on the island to create some interest and detail and open up the space. Rather than placing the island parallel to the back benchtop, which is typically the case, we placed it on an angle in the centre of the room, which makes the space look a lot more interesting.”
