Warrawee Kitchen Renovation: A Masterclass in Modern Classic Design

Degabriele’s kitchen project in Warrawee was a masterful blend of modernity and classic charm, seamlessly updating the kitchen while preserving the unique features of the 1920s home.

The challenge lay in creating a functional and durable kitchen within the constraints of a small 3-metre space. The designer came up with a brilliant solution – relocating the kitchen to the underutilised casual dining room.

By moving the kitchen, the space expanded considerably, providing ample room for a more functional layout. Now the kitchen flows effortlessly into the beautiful outdoor dining area, enhancing the overall living experience. The update not only addressed the client’s need for a modern kitchen, but also successfully integrated it with the character and aesthetic of their home.

Incorporating existing architectural elements such as archways, moulding and built-ins into the new design was crucial to achieving a cohesive look. Careful consideration was given to the placement of major appliances, work surfaces and storage options to maximise functionality and flow. The choice of materials and finishes harmonised with the home’s existing cream and neutrals colour palette and architectural style, adding to the seamless integration.

The result is a stunning kitchen that meets both practical requirements and aesthetic desires. It exemplifies how thoughtful planning and collaboration can transform a small impractical room into a captivating and functional space that complements the home’s timeless charm.
