Santa might have a little trouble coming down this chimney, especially considering it has taken the place of a traditional rangehood inside Roy and Marlene’s new kitchen from Better Bathrooms & Kitchens.
Working around the existing chimney, which has been intricately tiled, the kitchen is wrapped with benchtops and generous cupboard space, allowing the owners to keep the kitchen looking its best at all times. In keeping with the age of the house, a more traditional set-up was implemented and era-specific design requirements were carefully considered. For example, old Tasmanian oak was used on the cabinets and around the benchtops.
LED strip lights on the underside of the overhead cabinetry make meal prep a breeze. Additionally, a pair of pendants illuminates the sink and surrounding benchtop.
Traditional and with all the mod-cons, including Miele and SMEG appliances and a French-door 770L fridge, this kitchen is a treat!
