Renovated retreat: kitchen design

Darker shades have been used not just for dramatic effect but to bring warmth to the kitchen space

“The kitchen is the hub of any family home, and that is exactly what we accomplished with this design. The new kitchen had to include both storage and elements of functionality. The warm hues present in the flooring contrast with the crisp tones of the cabinetry and the abundance of natural light, which now make this kitchen an inviting space.

The support beam at the corner of the island bench had to be incorporated into the design and we extended the existing space out into the decking area. Beautiful double glass doors were installed to open out to the garden and bring the outside in. We have streamlined the areas of the kitchen where most of the preparation work is done to add functionality, including a refrigerator, oven, pantry and sink. This kitchen is now an open and light-filled retreat with an abundance of bench space and storage.”
