A perfectly provincial kitchen with a modern twist

“Part of a new build, the homeowners wanted a space that blended traditional features and sleek modernity. This kitchen oozes provincial splendour from the bolection mould cabinet fronts to the detailed panelling that stretches from the corner posts to the ends of the cabinet run and custom-made mantle.

Functionality was essential to the design, added through creative pull out storage solutions and space to allow for a clutter-free kitchen. Glass fronts were placed across the overhead cabinets so the homeowners would have easy access to their contents as well as providing a display opportunity. Inner drawers were also incorporated into the design to maximise storage.

The Dulux China White fronts and light-coloured splashback create a more open and spacious feel to the kitchen, and contrast beautifully with the floorboards, proud sideboard trims and stained American oak benchtop. The black Lacanche oven is a striking addition to the kitchen which adds colour, detail and further contrast to this masterfully designed space. With ease of cooking in mind, we included LED lighting under the custom-made mantle to further illuminate the cooking zone.

Caesarstone Fresh Concrete benchtops in the kitchen and butler’s pantry allow for plentiful working space and the kitchen island creates an engaging space to dine. We separated the cooking, preparation and washing zones to minimise traffic throughout the space and ensure a seamless flow throughout the kitchen.”
