This angular silver kitchen is full of interesting colour and light — sporting a beautiful Staron benchtop to add a modern touch
“An awkward space with no 90-degree angles, this kitchen renovation required careful planning to allow good workflow around continuous benchtops that could cope with the odd angles. When it came time to select the benchtop material, I needed a surface that had the ability to form a U-shaped bench with deeply acute angles.
Due to its design versatility and smooth finish, I selected Staron Solid Surfaces by Samsung. The Staron benchtop features a 60mm-thick, 2mm pencil edge with radius corners to the peninsular that provides a monolithic and continuous surface with no open joins. The benchtop also extends in the back, up to a 10mm tile cove upstand where the glass splashback meets the benchtop smoothly. The double stainless-steel sinks have been undermounted for an easy ‘one-wipe’ flow from the benchtop into the sink with no dirt-trapping crevices.
The flush induction cooktop fits very sleekly into the Staron. The clean lines and silky smooth finish, with a bit of a sparkle provided by the Staron in Metallic Yukon, makes a perfect complement to the metallic grey paint finish on the cabinets. Attention to detail has ensured this kitchen maximises every corner of the kitchen space, while still making a design statement. The client is delighted with the finished product because it is practical, beautiful and a joy to use.”
