Opposites Attract

A new home is a clean slate, a chance to build your dream kitchen and make it the size and shape you want, rather than renovating an existing space and making it work for you

These homeowners, when planning their new home, wanted a kitchen that was “something unusual” and different from your ordinary run-of-the-mill kitchen. They saw the Urban Kitchens showroom in Richmond, which offered a display very similar to the kitchen they eventually decided on. It was then up to Urban Kitchens designer Con Moshopoulos to convince the clients that this design would work in their new home.

The sophisticated space, very generous in size, has a mix of finishes, from vinyl-wrap panels in Bitter Black, to Alifrost black Perspex doors and white acrylic LG Hi-Macs benchtops. A mirror splashback also gives the illusion that the space is even larger than it is.

Con was asked to incorporate lift-up Blum Aventos black Alifrost overhead cupboards, the large fully integrated Electrolux fridge and white island benchtop with one waterfall end into the design. The benchtop overhangs to give additional preparation space and room for the family to gather.

As the kitchen is positioned to look out to the pool area, the owners not only have a light-filled space, but now have all the inspiration they need to gather their family and friends for a meal and entertain in ultimate style.
