Natural elements

As the kitchen is part of such a large open-plan living and entertaining area, both inside and out, the owners were keen to conceal the pantry, small appliances and preparation area, which is why we designed such a large butler’s pantry with all open shelving and open drawers

“So the main kitchen is a simple galley style with a generous-sized island, with the large piece of travertine creating a visual split between the preparation and casual dining areas of the island. The house has some lovely natural elements including various timbers and stone so the travertine ties in nicely with that among the otherwise man-made materials of the kitchen. Timber was used in the outdoor kitchen to continue this theme along with stainless steel for durability outdoors. There are lovely grounds surrounding the house so we included a glass window splashback to bring some of the view into the kitchen.”
