Natural contrast: unique kitchen design

Gallery

With a long window looking out to a natural rock formation outside, this kitchen is a unique blend of contemporary design embracing natural elements

“With both owners of this property being architects, we were given a very precise design brief with a focus on quality and stylish finishes. This was a new home so the build provided the opportunity for a complete custom design to complement the adjoining dining and living areas and views from the home. The long narrow kitchen window is the focal point, providing a striking view of a natural rock formation outside, part of a cliff that leads down to a body of water. The island and benchtop mirror the length and lines of the window, providing plenty of preparation and storage space. With floor-to-ceiling plain panel doors across two walls there is no shortage of storage space. The vivid white polyurethane cabinets and white stone benchtops contrast beautifully with the natural, earthy colours and finishes provided by the timber veneer panels, marble dining table and charcoal floor tiles, which continue throughout the living area. Not only do they work in well with the view from the kitchen window, but also with the sandstone fireplace and timber floors in the living area.”
