With the ever-increasing popularity of matt finishes, the melamine cabinetry chosen for this kitchen is not only cost-effective, but provides a contemporary and sleek look
This kitchen has a feature tile splashback that is quite striking, as it goes right to the ceiling as opposed to a standard splashback height. With the ever-increasing popularity of matt finishes, the melamine cabinetry chosen for this kitchen is not only cost-effective, but provides a contemporary and sleek look. Melamine has often been referred to as the ‘cheap option’, but there have been remarkable advances with this product over the years. The white cabinetry, teamed with the black feature overhead cupboards as well as the 12mm Neolith benchtop with black shadowline, gives the kitchen an overall luxe look. The cabinetry colour choice was very important as it needed to match the Dekton Zenith (white) benchtop. This was a difficult choice as many of the white melamines looked too stark or too cream. The black edge-pull handle, which sits on top of the drawers and doors, lends a streamlined look and extra storage cupboards on the reverse side of the servery are available for use when over-hang for stools is not needed.
