Filled with style and opulence, the owners of this grand Rose Bay home were inspired to update their outdated kitchen, which was worn out and poorly functioning, and bring it up to par with its surrounding rooms.
Premier Kitchens delivered a fresh new look that feels equal parts modern and vintage, fitting perfectly into the Rose Bay vibe.
The kitchen’s most eye-catching element is the delicious, large slabs of Paonazzo marble; a luxurious, rich stone with streaks of gold, black, cocoa and caramel running through a cream base like an Italian dessert. The stone is used lavishly, on the island bench, the back counter, backsplash and even as a decorative shelf that runs the back of the kitchen.
Bringing out the veins and grains of the stone, Integrated LED strip lighting splash reflections across the stone’s surface and off trimmings of brass on the handles, barstools, Astral Walker tapware and light overhead of the island.
Similarly, the curved rangehood in Navurban Elements Abstract Bronze evokes an old stove pipe and works perfectly amid the vintage charm.
The previous kitchen wasn’t just out of date, but under-utilised, the floorplan offering more potential than was currently in place. We opened up the room and created more space, for both the counter, adding barstools for entertaining, and for plenty of storage.
Countering the brass and bronze elegance, the thin shaker cabinetry has been finished in Dulux’s Oolong, a matte grey with traces of blue. It creates a deep mood that grounds the kitchen.
Sleek black Fisher & Paykel appliances either sit seamlessly alongside the Oolong, or are integrated behind it, allowing the depth of the finish to really immerse you.
Working with a sophisticated material selection, a timeless colour palette and a few architectural ‘wow’ moments, this kitchen offers maximum impact and give these owners the functionality they needed and the cohesive design they desired. Bellissimo.
