The Art of the Kitchen Arch

Gallery

Everyone’s idea of a dream kitchen varies, but for many this breathtaking design by Dana Kitchens will come very close.

Hamptons style has been one of the biggest decorating trends of the past decade and it’s encapsulated perfectly in this space, where Shaker-style cabinetry meets marble, meets
breezy grey and white tones. It’s the quality application of the aesthetic that really sets this kitchen apart, though. The pristine cabinetry has been hand-painted in Resene Alabaster semi-gloss, the genuine Carrara marble has been finely honed, and the rangehood canopy has been custom-designed to blend in perfectly above the four-door Falcon cooker.

Deep skirtings, arched mouldings and detailed ceiling crowns further elevate the space, as does the choice of an exquisite Astrawalker mixer over the main sink and pot-filler at the stove. Classic chrome pendants and handles, a double ceramic sink, textured tile splashback and walnut kickboards finish the look in the main zone, while the same level of quality carries through to the generous butler’s pantry and wine cellar.

With its matching tiles, joinery and counter-tops, the pantry is a natural extension, offering a swathe of storage options in the form of cupboards, drawers and open display shelving.

A dedicated wine fridge here provides a place to chill bottles once they’re removed from one of
the many dedicated well-lit racks in the walnut-lined wine cellar.

This space, that would be equally at home in the Hamptons, is a dream for its delighted Queensland owners.
