Kitchen triumph: combining textures and materials

Gallery

Combining various textures and materials like timber veneers, marble and engineered stone, this kitchen is the complete package

“The owners had a firm idea of what they wanted and what would suit their lifestyle — a clean and contemporary kitchen that was warm and inviting. The space also had to be practical and family-friendly as the couple has three children.

Designed for a new home, the kitchen blends seamlessly with the surrounding open-plan area, which flows to an outdoor entertaining space. The space is flooded with natural light so it was important to add substance to the kitchen so it wouldn’t appear washed out.

To do this, we chose warm timber veneer drawer fronts teamed with dark benchtops and Calacatta marble, which add a touch of drama to the kitchen and help ground the space.

The kitchen is very functional; it features drawers and pull-outs rather than cupboards, as well as a butler’s pantry. Overall, the space has a light and welcoming feel which complements the indoor/outdoor living area and the spectacular view the owners enjoy from their home.”
