Hidden delights

Sometimes it’s the things that aren’t readily available to the eye that bring the most joy to a kitchen owner.

“That’s the case with this overtly open design, which appears to offer all its features to the beholder, but all is not what it seems. The owners wanted the kitchen to blend harmoniously into the surrounding living spaces. To accommodate this, the benchtop at the business side of the kitchen literally flows downstream into the TV area, providing bountiful storage and a truly seamless passage from one living space to another. So too, the island bench hovers in both the kitchen and adjoining lounge area, providing the perfect platform to entertain guests and family members alike. But it’s the pantry, ingeniously hidden behind the dark-panelled bi-fold doors, that conjures the extraordinary out of this design, revealing additional storage and another prep area from which the real magic can begin.”
