Entertainers delight: Nautical kitchen harmony

Gallery

This casual kitchen features a unquiet contemporary look

“This waterside home required an impressive yet casual kitchen to suit the owners’ relaxed lifestyle and the architectural design of the home.

The two intersecting trapezoids forming the island are a striking focal point while providing generous bench space within easy reach of the refrigerator. With a nod to the shape of the sailing boats outside, the angled island visually balances the space and creates a smooth flow to the main work area.

A mirrored display unit and drinks cabinet with mirrored splashback reflect the waterfront view throughout the space. Inspired by the surroundings, the colour scheme comprises watery shades of blue, beige, grey and white, creating a relaxed atmosphere. Laminex Oyster Linear laminate provides a subtle texture.

In bold contrast, the Empire Satin marble breakfast bar envelopes the more practical Caesarstone workbench. The owners love to entertain, so we included a massive storage space in a walk-in pantry plus two banks of Miele cooking appliances.”
