“The owners were inspired by a design in Kitchens & Bathrooms Quarterly and wanted the same concept adapted to suit their home. As a major renovation and addition to a beautiful old home, the kitchen needed to respond to the existing character and style surrounding it. Through joinery, design and layout, we created an open space with dedicated areas for cooking and preparation. The gorgeous Falcon Classic stove is a focal point, framed by the classic Shaker-style cabinetry. Oversized drawers under the benches and across the length of the room provide storage and functionality. Textured blue-grey tiles give a rich, earthy feel to the splashback and provide depth to the white, well-lit space. Materials, colours and finishes were selected to work in harmony with the home’s character. The natural white cabinetry, stone benchtop and rich timber floor complement the understated elegance.”
