Curves, beauty and functionality

Gallery

The owners of this three-level family home in Balmoral, Queensland, granted the designer full creative control of the interior design. When it came to designing the kitchen space, the designer wanted to create a piece of art with practical features.

Staron® Solid Surfaces in Metallic Yukon was specified and thermoformed to create curves. The surface was wrapped around the kitchen island through cladding from the front to the back cabinetry and extended up to the benchtop. A polished concrete benchtop has also been used on top of the island and around the cooktop area, creating a beautiful contrast between the two materials.

Staron® Solid Surfaces was chosen as it achieves a smooth and monolithic appearance with no open joins. This contributes to the artistic form of the kitchen space, while the low-maintenance and non-porous nature of Staron® provides practicality. Additionally, Staron® is non-toxic, silica-free and resists stains. With an incredible view of the city skyline and beautiful, smooth curves inviting you into the kitchen, the end result is a space that is both aesthetically and functionally pleasing.
