“The owners requested that the kitchen become an outstanding centrepiece in their home. They had already renovated the rest of the house and shown a dedication to restoring the classic-character features of the home. Their main requests were for lots of bench space, a large pantry and enough room to accommodate their large appliances. They also wanted to increase the size of the entry door into the main dining/living area. The owners loved the decorative aspects of a traditional provincial kitchen and they encouraged me to be liberal with these design features. I was able to include a generous amount of fluted posts as well as turned table posts on each side of the stove. It was important to incorporate the magnificent display cabinet, as visually, the colonial glass cabinetry is the first thing you see as you walk through the hallway from the front door.” Designer: Kylie Ahearn for Alby Turner & Son Kitchens
