Aiming to brighten and modernise the heart of their beautiful dwelling, the homeowners approached Rochet Kitchens for a renovation.
They were keen to remove walls to alter the existing footprint, update their previous highbacked benchtop with a large island bench, and completely overhaul their existing laundry space. The team got to work to open up the once closed kitchen. They removed some walls to allow for a freestanding island bench as well as a cavity slider to enter the newly refurbished laundry. The new kitchen and bathroom feature Ballarat-profiled doors and panels with a pencil edge, painted in Dulux Snowy Mountain.
Stone benchtops with matching splashbacks in Quantum Quartz Michelangelo also appear in both rooms. Elegant accents are placed throughout in the form of sleek gold handles and tapware. The deep island bench is a considered choice – it allows for plentiful seating and also cleverly maximises storage thanks to the inclusion of the Blum Antaro drawer system. Strip lighting, an enclosed rangehood and brandnew Smeg appliances modernise the space perfectly. There’s plenty of storage in both rooms, perfect for everything necessary for family life.
The bifold door to the appliance cabinet houses the ever-necessary coffee machine and accompaniments, while the laundry room’s tall cabinetry is consistently used for storing pantry items, linen, cleaning supplies and more. Thanks to this modern update, the heart of this home and the nearby laundry room are the perfect backdrop for the joys (and occasional chaos) of family life.
