Wanting to replace their decades-old “developer’s kitchen” with a modern, dramatic space, the homeowners contacted Nouvelle Kitchens with a list of requests: better workflow, darker colours, and a wow-factor island.

To meet the brief, the design team prioritised redesigning the kitchen’s layout, ultimately settling on floor-to-ceiling cabinetry and a dramatic island. The best part? There was plenty of space left over for a hidden laundry, complete with bifold doors to make sure it can be accessed easily but remains hidden from view when not in use. Caesarstone in Black Tempal appears on the island, surrounding benchtops and splashback, commanding attention while adding interest against the Laminex Black Absolute Matte doors and panels.

Strategically placed LED under cabinet strip lighting creates dramatic effect. The integrated black appliances, including a V-Zug integrated coffee machine, oven and cooktop, as well as handleless cabinetry, facilitate the room’s seamless, minimalist feel. There’s plenty of clever storage for dry goods, spices and other ingredients in the kitchen thanks to the Kesseböhmer pull-out pantry. And, if the homeowners fancy a glass of wine while they cook dinner, their Vintec wine fridge is within easy reach for a quick tipple.

Thanks to its modern design and lasting quality, this designer kitchen will no doubt serve the homeowners’ lifestyle for years to come.
