The brief for the kitchen in this new home was to create a space that was beautiful aesthetically, but low maintenance. The homeowners wanted a functional, family-friendly kitchen that was minimalist in design.
The kitchen space is open plan, so colours and finishes were chosen to create a warm and inviting feel. Deep greys, timber, stainless steel and soft whites add character and interest. As this kitchen space was designed for busy family life, the benchtop material needed to be durable and create impact. Staron® Solid Surfaces was the perfect surface solution for its smooth, monolithic benchtop surface with no open joins. Staron® is also non-porous, which means stains are never permanent.
An integrated drainer board was routered directly into the benchtop, creating clean design around the sink space. Staron® was also used on the kitchen island, where the surface steps down to a timber eating area. The two materials blend harmoniously together while creating a beautiful design feature. A slimline lighting fixture hangs above the island for an additional contemporary touch, creating a central focus on the island where the family meets for meals. The end result is an inviting kitchen space that is both functionally and aesthetically pleasing.
