With crisp white lines and a gorgeous ocean view, this Bondi kitchen has undergone a magnificent transformation
“Surrounded by all the great things that Bondi has to offer, the owners wanted to gut the entire space to create an ultra-modern minimalist look. The freshness of the sea breeze and the sound of waves engulf the room, which influenced the design brief. The main challenge, however, was to create clever use of the space available.
To get the minimalist look, toughened glass front doors with no visible frame were used throughout the kitchen. Surprisingly a resilient material, glass adds depth to the cabinet doors. Glass reflects the light and creates a transparent wall, which, in some parts of the day, reflects the entire beach on the translucent doors.
Designing something spectacular in the tiny 5m x 4m space, which also doubled as a living/dining room, was an exciting design challenge.”
