Managing the space, busy family life and a gorgeous aesthetic, this new kitchen is a smooth operator
“The huge space provided the main challenge to this renovation. The previous kitchen looked out of place, and we had to be careful to keep main areas connected — to ensure simple tasks didn’t require miles of walking! The design had to be durable enough to suit a busy everyday routine, but flexible enough to accommodate huge family gatherings — hence the double dishwasher, the two ovens and the oversized butler’s pantry. The long floating-look island, featuring floating tables at both ends, offers heaps of preparation space and loads of versatility, and the toughened glass and steel supports create a long, sleek modern look. Lighting was also a key design feature, and LED up and downlighting play a key role in making a large space glow with warmth, ensuring guests feel invited in rather than shut out. Contemporary rounded accessories complete the look, and contrast perfectly with the sleek, modern lines of the cabinetry.”
