A Shaker-Style Kitchen Renovation for a Family of Four

Gallery

This renovation took careful consideration to maximise the available space for a family seeking to revive and expand their existing kitchen.

The family of four needed more room for storage and wanted to update the space that was starting to feel dated. It also needed to flow nicely into the surrounding areas. Their dream was a Shaker-style kitchen renovation with the signature neutral and minimalist style.

One of the key must-haves was a bigger kitchen island with space for entertaining as well as more seating for their children.

The original kitchen was against a narrow western wall, making the space feel cut off from the living area and also reducing the kitchen island. A reorientation of the room meant the island could be elongated and better flow created to the living room and adjacent bathroom. Now the family can utilise the food prep space and still entertain without feeling disconnected. The use of white throughout ensured the neutral guidelines and texture was incorporated through the subtle Dekton benchtop and herringbone patterned splashback tiles. This stylish space now has ample room for entertaining and plenty of that all-important storage.
