A modern kitchen transformation by Collaroy Kitchen Centre: The original kitchen was adequate, but not to the homeowner’s taste, and creating living spaces you love in your own dwelling is important. In the original kitchen, there were also a few functionality issues with a dated corner pantry.
Insufficient space for appliances was also an issue. For example, a microwave sitting on a bench is undesirable in a modern kitchen where clever storage solutions can offer ample space so benchtops remain uncluttered.
The client wanted a colour scheme that was kept light, coastal and elegant. The stunning views from the kitchen also needed to be highlighted. With an interior designer’s eye for detail, the client created a wish list that has served the design admirably.
Thick shelves to match floorboards offer places to display items or add potted greenery. A generous island provides plenty of seating.
A bar fridge on the inside of the island was positioned to be out of sight and caters to grabbing a quick cool drink on the go, or to store food that can be easily reached while entertaining. An integrated fridge creates a seamless look, and an all-in-one Zip tap adds further practicality.
