A Queensland kitchen renovation by Ordanga Construction Services has transformed a space that was over 25 years old into a stunning, functional area that combines practicality with style.
The original kitchen, located in a completely different space, was outdated and no longer served the family’s needs. The brief for the renovation was clear and detailed: the client wanted to expand the existing footprint to include a new, modern galley kitchen with an island bench, and to create a light-filled environment with clean lines and white accents.
The new layout embraces a galley-style kitchen, providing a streamlined flow with functional storage solutions. A standout is the large island bench coupled with the Tasmanian oak timber feature, which not only serves as the kitchen’s focal point but also acts as a central gathering space for the family. This island is beautifully complemented by subtle white cabinetry, enhancing the sense of openness and brightness within the space.
Lighting played a crucial role in shaping the atmosphere. Carefully selected lighting, which can be adjusted to create different moods, ensures that the space feels both relaxed and energising, depending on the time of day. This design element, paired with the kitchen’s crisp whites and natural timber, offers a balanced yet vibrant aesthetic.
Positioned perfectly to take advantage of the surroundings, the kitchen includes a large window that offers sweeping views of the elevated mountainous landscape outside. This connection to nature brings an additional layer of tranquillity to the room.
One of the project’s key challenges was timing. Given the scale of the renovation, it was essential that every element, from the cabinetry to the glazing, was completed on schedule. Ordanga Construction Services’ seamless coordination of their cabinetry team with the building and glazing work ensured the project progressed without delays. The ability to control all elements under one roof streamlined the process and brought the vision to life with precision.
