When local architect, Michael Connolly renovated his own home he turned to Shutterflex for stylish, bespoke shading and screening solutions
The design includes combinations of fixed, manually operated and motor controlled blades from the Shutterflex Bahama range, as well as screening solutions from the Portafino and Monaco product range.
However it is the Bahama product that is the hero of this house design, successful as both a practical and aesthetically sustainable feature.
The Eastern wall has the operable Bahama with large 150mm blades from Shutterflex. These are an aesthetic addition to the house design, offering strong, clean, vertical lines. Not only do the larger louvre blades provide greater visual impact both internally and externally but they provide a practical solution for privacy for the suburban elevated home and lower the ambient temperature of the interior, reducing the demand for air conditioning.
The Monaco screen on the western wall provides both shade and privacy. The slim line blade in this application complements the modern architectural style of the home and provides protection for the kitchen from the harsh Western sun.
The Portafino screen in Dulux Precious Pearl, Pewter Pearl at the entrance is a great visual juxtaposition to the expansive red pivoting door, offering the visitor an entre of what awaits them inside.
